Boiled hen on top of rice

Boiled hens are usually served with rice and a sauce. In the following recipe, the hen is boiled before being brown a bit with some vegetables. Rice is then added and the whole mixture is cooked some more.

Ingredients

 1.20 kg hen
 1 cup bouquet garnished bouillon
 1 cup chicken bouillon
 1 l of water
 4 carrots in rings
 1 small leek in rings
 1 sliced onion
 500 g of rice

Directions

Put the water, the cup of bouquet garnished bouillon and the hen in the tank

Put the instant pot in pressure cooking mode 30min

Empty the tank but keep the cooking water

Switch the instant pot to mode browning

Fry the onion, hen, leeks, and the carrots in butter,

Add the chicken bouillon cup

Switch to quick cooking for 15min

At the end of cooking, add the rice and put the liquid back in until the rice is covered (add water if necessary)

Put back in pressure cooking 8min
